Nutraceuticals and Herbs

We recommend nutraceutical and herbal therapies for support and treatment of a variety of problems.  Dr. Wynn is an expert in the area, having been certified as a professional member by the American Herbalist Guild, certified in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Herbal Medicine, and having written textbooks and lectured world wide on these subjects.

Our supplements are medical grade and in general more potent than supplements available over the counter for pets.  We trust companies such as Thorne Research, Douglas Laboratories, Herbalist and Alchemist, HerbPharm, Natural Path, Mayway, Jing Tang, Sun Ten, and K’an herbs.   We try to provide combinations and formulas that reduce the number of capsules and tablets that you will need to administer on a daily basis.

We try to patronize veterinary companies who are members of the Natural Animal Supplement Council (NASC).  The NASC ensures that its members have regular quality control checks and have an adverse event reporting system respected by the FDA and that is the envy of the human supplement industry.  If you’d like to know if your supplement supplier is a member of the NASC, check out their supplier list at http://nasc.cc/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=95&Itemid=44

Acupuncture

Acutherapy involves the  stimulation of specific points, to help resolve, control or  improve a medical condition.  Stimulation can be in the form of small acupuncture needles, injections, electrical stimulation or applied pressure.  We offer acupuncture, electroacupuncture and aquapuncture, and we will often teach clients acupressure techniques to use at home.  Acupuncture is a proven method to relieve pain and fatigue, and control nausea and vomiting.

We use acupuncture to help relieve side effects of chemotheray and radiation, normalize or stimulate nervous functions in paralysis patients,  stimulate appetite in patients with chronic kidney and liver disease, and relieve pain for arthritis patients.  Acupuncture may also be useful in some cases of immune mediated and other conditions.
Chiropractic, massage and other alternative therapies

Dr. Wynn has training in homeopathy, reiki and many other modalities, but concentrates on acupuncture, herbs, and nutrition.  She will often refer to other alternative therapists for chiropractic and physical therapy.  Just ask if you are interested!
